COMPETITION CENTRE AND OFFICE
Competition centre: Lavarone - Gionghi. At APT Lavarone. The competition office will be open according to the following time table:
June 28th:   13.00 till 20.00 hours at the competition centre
June 29th and 30th:   10.00 till 12.00 and 15.00 till 20.00 hours at the competition centre
July 1st , 2nd , 4th and 5th:   7.45 till 14.30 hours at the competition area
 17.00 till 22.00 hours at the competition centre
July 3rd:   9.00 till 12.00 and 16.30 till 22.00 hours at the competition centre
July 6th 77.45 till 16.30 hours at the competition centre
 
KIND OF COMPETITION:
5 day competition. The final ranking will be determinated by the sum of the of the times realized at the 5 legs. Chasing start at the last leg.

July 4th 3rd leg:Millegrobbe. Classic distance. Zero time at 9 o' clock a.m.
July 5th 4th leg:Millegrobbe. Classic distance. Zero time at 9 o' clock a.m.
July 6th 5th leg:Lavarone. Classic distance. Zero time at 9 o' clock a.m. (chasing start)
 
WRE:
The 1st leg (monday July 1st ) will be a WRE-competion. This applys for all athletes competing in the categories HE and DE. Only for the WRE and limited to the categories HE and DE, it is possible to register only for the first leg. In this case, the competition fee will be of 20,00 €, and the deadline is June 10th , 2002. At June 30th , 2002, there will be organized a Model Event open only to the athletes taking part in the WRE. The competiton fee for the WRE includes also the Model Event.
 
TRAININGS:
Trainings will be possible from friday June 28th on. The maps for the organized trainings will be for sale at the competition office during the normal opening times. Each map will cost 2,00 €.
 
COMPETITION MAPS:
The competition maps will comply to the IOF rules. The scale will be 1:10000 for the classes from H/D 10 to H/D 15-16, for classes H/D C and for the classes from H/D 45 and up. The scale will be 1:15000 for the classes between H/D 17-18 included and H/D40 included. Contours are 5 m, survey 2001.
 
COMPETITION TERRAINS AND PREVIOUS ORIENTEERING COMPETITIONS:
The competitions will take place on the highlands of Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna at 950 up to 1500 m above the sea level. On the same terrains took also place the following international competitions: 1984 Ski-O World Championships; 2001 Junior and Master World Ski-O Championships.
 
ONLINE AND EMAIL-REGISTRATION/REGISTRATION OF A TEAM:
Registrations must be done online. A team can be registrated online only once. Only after the registration of a team, and after have received a password, it will be possible to register people and to book accomodation and other services.
 
There have been fixed tree deadlines for the registrations:
 
  • Deadline A: January 31st , 2002

  • Deadline C: May 31st , 2002

    Only for the Open and the Beginners classes, the organizers may accept, after having evaluated the number of competitors already registred in these classes, late registrations. The registration fees can be found at the section "Prices"".
     
    Before the confirmation, each team can:
     
  • insert (further) names;

  • register for the competitions

  • book accomodation
  •  
  • book services
  •  
  • modify, cancel or add
  •  
    The teams are not allowed to modify services already booked for the registred people and already CONFIRMED ONLINE. At this time, modifications are possible only comunicating the desired modifications by Email to: 5days@tecnotn.it. But the teams are allowed to add new people and/or book further services. If there is no possibility to book online, one can send the requests by Email to: 5days@tecnotn.it., This mail must contain the name of the team, the nationality, full name, first name, class, number of Si-Card, accomodation type, other requested services for each person that shall be registered.
     
     
    COMPETITION CLASSES:

    INSURANCE:
    Each competitor will be responsible on its own for an adequate insurance-coverage.
     
    PAYMENTS:
    Payments must be done by bank transfer.
    At the moment of the confirmation of the registrations (and of the accomodations and the other booked services), the responsible of the team will be asked about the desired payment-form (from Italy, from abroad), and thereafter (s)he will be shown all informations about the payment. Do not forget to indicate clearly the reason (bill nr. …).
    Payments from abroad will automatically be incremented by 3.00 € for each bill (bank fees) The team leaders can verify the state of the of their payments in section reports / bill.

    SPORTident:
    For the punching control, for all classes there will be used the electronic punching system SPORT-ident. For each competitor there must be indicated the number of the Si-Card. Competitors without own Si-Cards can hire one at a fee of 8.00 € for all five days, or they can buy one at a cost of 20.00 €. If someone had already asked for a Si-Card to hire, but he wishes to buy it, (s)he can do so at the competition centre when collecting the competition bag of her/his team.
     
    SPLIT TIMES:
    Each evening after the competition, at the competition centre there will be sold the result sheets with the split times for each class. The sheets will show the split times, the partial times and the individual positions on each control for each competitor of the same class.
     
    PRIZES:
    For the first 4 legs, there will be prizes for the winners of each class, and at the final prize giving ceremony there will be prizes for the first three of each class. This applies to all classes except H/D Élite. For these classes there will be the following prizes: 1st leg, only due to WRE, for the first three of each class; at legs 2nd , 3rd and 4th : only the winners. At the final prize giving ceremony the first five runners of each class. The prize giving ceremonies for the first four legs will be held at the competiton centre at 8.30 PM, and the final prize giving ceremony will be held at the finish area of the last leg at the end of the competition.
     
    BABY ORIENTEERING:
    At the finish area of each leg, there will be organized BABY-ORIENTEERING. The flagged course will be of about 1200 m long. Each child will be given a map. BABY-ORIENTEERING will be at no fee for the families taking part at the 5 days competition. BABY-ORIENTEERING must be booked until June 15th , 2002 (in "other services"). Children that are not registred for baby orienteering are allowed to take part at the game provided that there will be enough maps. BABY-ORIENTEERING shall be held between 10 AM and 1 PM. Adults are allowed to follow their children.
     
    KINDERGARTEN:
    During the competitions there will be active a Kindergarten. Children will be guarded in an idoneous building by nurses from 8.30 AM till 2 PM. Registration is required, deadline is June 15th , 2002. It can be done online at "other services". This service will cost 15.00 € for all 5 legs.
     
    PARKING:
    It will be possible to reach the competitions by car. Parking areas are located nearby the finish area. The parking fee will be of 10.00 € for the whole week or 3.00 € for each day. Free parking is possible at a distance of at least three km from the finish area. Home mobiles are not allowed to reach the parking at the finish area, but busses with more than 30 persons onboard are allowed, at a fee of 20.00 € for the whole week.
     
    TRASPORTATION:
    The competitions can be reached also by special shuttle busses. Booking is requested. Deadline is May 31st , 2002. This service will cost 25.00 € for the whole week. The accomodation will be choosen also taking in account if the competitors will use their own car or the bus service. Therefor, it will be necessary to book the bus service together with the booking of the accomodation.
     
    TEAM BAGS:
    The team bags containing all the competition material for each team will be available at the competition office during the normal opening. Inside the bags one can find the number bibs, the hired or purchased Si-cards, the bus tickets, the parking tickets, the vouchers for accomodation, logistic information and informative material concerning the "5 Days of the Fortresses".
     
    MEALS:
    During the competitions, there will be available cheap but relishable fresh meal prepared in rolling kitchens in the finish area. This service will also be available in the evening at the big tent nearby the competition centre.
     
    DAY OF REST:
    July 3rd will be a day of rest. On this day there will be organized a bus travel to Venice. Booking information will be given on request.
     
    EVENINGS AT THE COMPETITION CENTRE:
    In the big tent at the competition centre, where will be held also the prize giving ceremonies, it will be possible to have meal and drink and to visit the stands of the sponsors and take part at various manifestations.
     
    SOUVENIRS AND ORIENTEERING SPORT ARTICLES
    At the competition centre, and during the competitions in the finish area, there will be present some authorized orienteering shops (ORI-SPORT of Tiziano Serafini, SPORT ORIENTEERING SERVICE of Gabriele Viale, SPORTVOGL of Roland Vogl). At reserved desks at the competition centre one con buy typical products of the Trentino County.
     
    "5 GIORNI DEI FORTI" ON TOUR
    The Organisation Committee will be present with an own desk at the Danish Spring Cup where it will be possible register directly for the "5 Days of the Fortresses". This will also be possible at the most important orienteering competitions held in Italy up to May 31st, 2002.
     
    ACCOMODATION INFORMATION
     
    GENERAL:
    About logistics of the 5 days manifestation will be cared by the Organizing Committee of the "5 Days of the Fortresses" together with TURISMO LAVARONE S.r.l. Accomodation booking must be done online, and only by the responsible of each team.

    1. HOTELS (SOLUTIONS A and B)
    Hotels are of two (solution B) and three stars (solution A). The prices are for one person and for seven days, half board included. It will be possible to book longer stayings
     
    2. RESIDENCES (SOLUTIONS C and D)
    The price for the residences is only for the flat. Each flat will be of two bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen and a bathroom. Normally, the residence administration offers further services for its customers (swimming, bar, entertainment...). There will be available two kinds of flats: one with four beds (solution C) and one with five beds (solution D). The given price is for the whole flat for seven days. One can book a longer rest at same conditions. The booking of a residence flat must be done by one people. People who will come together with the one that has booked, will also need to book, but they have to use the option "other person in accomodation type". Example: one people books a residence flat solution C (620.00 €), and the other three people will book option C1 (0.00 €).
     
    3. FLATS (SOLUTIONS E and F)
    Every flat has it's own characteristics, but normally they will consist of two bedrooms, a fully functional kitchen and a bathroom. There will be available blankets, but bed-linnen will be available on request and at hire. The available flats are of two kinds: for 4-5 persons (solution E), and for 5-6 persons (solution F). The given prices are for the whole flat and for seven days. Longer rest can be booked at same conditions. Booking modalities are same as for residences.
     
    4. EQUIPPED PLACES FOR HOME MOBILES AND CARAVANS (SOLUTION M)
    There will be available equipped places for home mobiles and caravans. They are at about 800 m from the competition centre. Electricity is available for payment. Further information at the competition office. Booking modalities are same as for residences. Nearby will be a bus stop for the shuttle busses to the competitions.
     
    5. EQUIPPED TENT PLACES (SOLUTION N)
    There will be equipped tent places at about 800 m from the competition centre, nearby the places for home mobiles and caravans. One can sleep there in ones own tent. The places are not camping areas, but they are equipped with showers and toilettes. Booking modalities are same as for residences. Nearby will be a bus stop for the shuttle busses to the competitions.
